Doug Mader–Western Nebraska C.C.
LSB XXIII, 3 years on the LSB Board. Workforce Development Specialist, Western Nebraska Community College. Doug is in his sixth year with WNCC in workforce development and training. Originally from Gering, Doug grew up in Laramie, WY. He enjoys hunting, fishing, college sports and reading books on history.
LSB XXIV, 1st year LSB Board. WNCC and CSC graduate. Enrolled in grad studies at UNL. He has worked in both the fields of industrial technology and information technology. Jessie is actively involved in community programs/organizations such as NEXT Young Professionals, 4-H and the Catpack programs. He is also involved in organizing the Multicultural Youth Leadership Conference for high school and middle school students. Jessie is the 2nd of four boys in his family. He has several hobbies including cars, computers, and art.
Brittany Kleager–Platte Valley Companies
LSB XXII, 4 years on the LSB Board. Accountant, Platte Valley Bank. Brittany serves as treasurer to the Board of Directors for Camp Scott and is a member of NEXT Young Professionals & CERT, among others. She and her family participate in the dorm parent program through WNCC Cougar athletics. She recently completed her MBA through UW. In what spare time is left, she enjoys being outdoors with her family, chasing after her active little man, Auggie.
Monica Bartling–Nebraska State Patrol
LSB XXIII, 3 years on the LSB Board. Lieutenant in charge of the Investigative Services Division of the Nebraska State Patrol in Troop E. Monica has been a Nebraska State Trooper 26 years and recently graduated from the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command. Monica serves on the CAPstone Child Advocacy Center Board of Directors and is involved with Rotary. Monica enjoys spending time with her family and friends, golfing, reading books on her NOOK and riding her Can-Am Spyder.
Rebecca Thompkins–First State Bank
LSB XXIV, 2 years on the LSB Board. Marketing Director of First State Bank. She volunteers as part of the United Way of Western Nebraska Special Events committee, the Chamber of Commerce Business/Education Committee, Mediation West Board of Directors, NEXT young professionals, Secretary of Scottsbluff/Gering Noon Lions Club, along with a number of other committees. Becca has two daughters, Ayden,4 and Dyllen 2 months. Her free time is enjoyed being with her daughters and significant other Cody, being outdoors, camping and just enjoying time together.

LSB XX, 1st year board member, Chief Agronomist, Kelley Bean Company, I have had the honor of serving on the Gering City Council for 6 years and have been Chair of the Recreation, Amusement and Culture Committee for 2 years. My wife and I are adjusting to our “empty Nest” lifestyle as we have 3 independent college age children.
Summer Parker–Regional West
LSB XXV, 1st year board member, Service Excellence Manager for Regional West Health Services. She received her BS Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from UNK. Taught in Glendale Arizona, moved to Colorado Springs, and then North Platte. Certified Professional of Human Resources, served on the Society for Human Resources State Council as the At Large Director, and Vice President and Secretary for the Great Plains Society for Human Resource Management group in North Platte. Relocated to Scottsbluff where she was hired as a Human Resource Generalist at Regional West. Active board member for the Carpenter Center. She resides in Scottsbluff with her husband, children and her two dogs.
George Schlothauer–Valley Alternative Learning Transition School(VALTS)
LSB XXIV, 2 years on the LSB Board, Director of Alternative Education at ESU #13. George is president of United Way of Western Nebraska and is actively involved in his church. He has 3 children, Macy (11), Max (9), and Clare (5). He enjoys coaching and watching his kids many activities.
Hunter Kosman–Platte Valley Companies
LSB XXIII, 3 years on the LSB Board. Platte Valley Bank, Collateral Specialist. Hunter has worked at the bank for 5 years. He is on the Platte River Basin Environment Board and Co-Chair of the NEXT Young Professionals Beer and Wine Festival. Hunter and his wife Tish, enjoy spending time with their daughter and their two dogs.
Amy Yeager–Farm Credit Services of America
LSB XXIII, 3 years on the LSB Board. Customer Service Coordinator, Farm Credit Services of America. Amy is the church board secretary of Salem Congregational Church and is part of the Chamber of Commerce AgriBusiness Committee. She has also worked part time at Monument Shadows Golf Course for 9 years. Amy and her husband, Terry, have a yellow lab, Gunner. In her spare time she likes to spend time with her family and friends & reading.
Amy Brown–Bluffs Sanitary Supply
LSB XX, 4 years on the LSB Board. Owner of Bluffs Sanitary Supply, Bluffs Facility Solutions, and Studio A Photography. Amy was recently selected to participate in Leadership Nebraska. Amy & Justin have been married for 22 years and have 4 children together. They have several ‘adopted’ kids from WNCC athletics (Basketball, Baseball, Softball) where Amy serves as the dorm parent coordinator for WNCC Men’s Basketball. They have enjoyed traveling around Fiji, Australia, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Paris, the Dominican, Mexico and the USA.
Karen Anderson–Scottsbluff/Gering United Chamber of Commerce
16 years on the LSB Board. Executive Director of the Scottsbluff/Gering United Chamber of Commerce. She is a past president for the Scottsbluff/Gering Rotary Club, past president of Mid America Chamber Executives (5 state regional association), past president of Nebraska Chamber of Commerce Execs and served on the US Chamber Board of Regents for six years. She serves as an assisting priest for the St. Francis Episcopal Church of Scottsbluff. Currently she is the President of the Standing Committee for the Diocese of Nebraska. She has four grown children and ten grandchildren. She enjoys traveling , walking, swimming and volunteering for the community.
