George Schlothauer – ESU #13

LSB XXIV, 6 years on the LSB Board, Director of Alternative Education at ESU !13.  George has served on the United Way of Western Nebraska board for 11 years including president and campaign co-chair.  He is actively involved in his church.  He has 3 children, Macy (16), Max (14), and Clare (10).  He enjoys coaching and watching his kids many activities.

 

 

Doug Hoevet – Nebraska Department of Transporation

LSB XXII, 2nd year on the LSB Board.  Doug also serves on the West Nebraska Arts Center Board, is an officer with the Scottsbluff Business Masterminds, and is a graduate from the University of Wyoming.  Professionally, Doug is the Department of Transportations’ District Engineer for the panhandle.  Personally Doug is supportive of the Arts, and as an artist, his sculptures can be found across Nebraska.  He and his wife Jennifer enjoy operating their business, and raising their two children Nathan and Katie.

 

Kasandra Lauder – Leonard Tabor Attorney at Law

LSB XXV, 2nd year on the LSB Board.  Born and raised in Scottsbluff, Kasandra graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 20016.  She began her career as a paralegal in 2008 working for Leonard Tabor & William Peters.  A volunteer firefighter for the City of Scottsbluff from 2011-2014, she has served as a City of Scottsbluff Parks & Recreation Board member since 2014.  In addition, Kasandra participates as a sub-committee member in the Scottsbluff Public Schools 3B’s Program.  She and her husband opened Midwest Vapers World in 2016.  Kasandra is a faithful volunteer at her church and at a variety of community events.  She and her family enjoy activities including basketball, football, camping, fishing and bike riding.

Jessie Lopez – AIM

LSB XXIV, 4 years on the LSB Board.  WNCC and CSC graduate.  Jessie is employed as Site Coordinator of AIM/Educational Opportunity Centers and Library Tech for the Lied Scottsbluff Public Library.  Jessie is actively involved in community programs/organizations such as the Guadalupe Center Board of Directors and 4-H Mentoring.  He is also involved in organizing the Multicultural Youth Leadership Conference for high school and middle school students.  Jessie is the 2nd of four boys in his family.  Time not spent working and volunteering is spent with is family, Rosa, Elijah, Yesenia and 3 year old son Damian.

Dan Smith – Kelley Bean Company

LSB XX, which makes me about the oldest person involved with LSB, 5 years on the LSB Board, and is the Chief Agronomist for Kelley Bean Company.  I have had the honor of serving on the Gering City Council for 10 years and current Chairman of the Sports Facility Committee bringing a College level wood bat baseball League to Gering.   My wife Jackie and I have raised 3 adult children that we never hear from.

 

Hunter Kosman – Platte Valley Bank

LSB XXIII,  7 years on the LSB Board.  Platte Valley Bank, Collateral Specialist.  Hunter has been with Platte Valley Bank for 9 years.  He is on the Platte River Basin Environment Board and Scottsbluff Public Schools Foundation Board.  He enjoys many outdoor activities and spending time with is wife, Tish and their 2 daughters.

 

Becca Tompkins – First State Bank

LSB XXIV, 6 years on the LSB Board.  Marketing Director of First State Bank.  She volunteers as part of the United Way of Western Nebraska Special Events committee, the Chamber of Commerce Workforce Readiness Committee, Mediation West Board of Directors, Secretary of Scottsbluff/Gering Noon Lions Club, Treasurer of Western Nebraska Agri-Women, PTF president of Community Christian School along with a number of other committees.  Becca has 3 children, Ayden 8, Dyllen 4 and James 2.  Her free time is enjoyed being with her children and significant other Cody, being outdoors, camping and just being together as a family.

Tricia Strauch – KNEB

LSB XXVIII, 2nd year on the LSB Board.  Account Executive for the Rural Radio Network – KNEB.  Born and raised in Gering, Tricia graduated from Gering High School where her children were raised and graduated.  Tricia is currently a member of the Scottsbluff Noons Kiwanis, Riverside Discovery Center Board Member, participates in the Polar Plunge each year with other KNEB plungers, and a member of the Legacy of the Plains Board.  She enjoys watching the Colorado Rockies and traveling to Husker football games with her husband Alan and boys.

Cami Kite – City of Scottsbluff

LSB XXV, 2nd year on the LSB Board.  Cami is employed at the City of Scottsbluff.  Cami received her Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from Chadron State College.  She is currently a member of the Panhandle Professional Woman’s group and a Crime Stoppers board member.  Cami resides in Scottsbluff with her husband Lance, daughter Samantha and son Cooper.

 

Allison Judy – Western Nebraska Community College

LSB XXIX, 1st year on the LSB Board.  Allison is the Public Relations & Marketing Director for Western Nebraska Community College. A native of western Nebraska, she holds an Associate’s degree from Mid-Plains Community College, and a Bachelor’s degree from University of Nebraska-Kearney.  Allison served as co-chair for the recent “Believe in Gering Schools” bond referendum, and is also active with the Geil Elementary Booster Club and her church.  She resides in Gering with her husband Brian, and their three sons Max, Jack and Sam.

 

Jason Rogers – Gering Police Department

LSB XXIX, 1st year on the LSB Board.  Jason is a 1989 graduate of Gering High School.  He has been with the Gering Police Department for the past 24 years.  Jason is on the United Way of Western Nebraska Board of Directors and the Nebraska Law Enforcement Torch Run State Board of Directors.  He is a past board member for CASA of Scotts Bluff County.  Jason lives in Scottsbluff wit his wife Holly.  Together they have four children, Austin, Kylie Christian and Riley.

 

Adam Hoesing – Simmons Olsen Law Firm

LSB XXVIII, 1st year on the LSB Board.  Attorney at Simmons Olsen Law Firm, P.C., L.L.O.  Adam has been in Scottsbluff and with Simmons Olsen for 6 years.  He is a board member for NEXT Young Professionals, a co-chair of the Chamber Government Affairs Committee, and serves in various capacities for the Knights of Columbus and St. Agnes Church.  He and his wife, Nichole, have three children, Tristan (5), Henry (3), and June (1).  In his free time, Adam enjoys spending time with family, household improvement projects and amateur craft brewing.

Doug Couse – Western States Bank

LSB XXIX, 1st year on the LSB Board.  Moved here just over a year ago and LSB was invaluable to learn about this community and what it has to offer as well as what can be improved on.  I’m currently a Lions club member and director, United Way of Western Nebraska director and commercial lender with Western States Bank.  My wife Lisa and I have 2 kids, live on a small acreage with 6 chickens, 2 ducks and if you ask Lisa more animals to come.  I guess you will see the animal list grow on next years LSB board brochure.  I’m a die-hard Husker fan (thanks Dad!), love being outdoors just as much as I enjoy taking it easy in a hammock.

Karen Anderson – Ex-Officio

Karen has been the Executive Director of the Scottsbluff/Gering United Chamber of Commerce for 22 years.  She serves as an Ex-Officio on the LSB Board.  Volunteerism includes: past president of the Scottsbluff/Gering Rotary Club, past president of Mid America Chamber Execs (5 state regional association), past president of the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce Execs, and the US Chamber Board of Regents.  She serves as an assistant priest for St. Francis Episcopal Church in Scottsbluff.  She has four grown children and ten grandchildren.  She enjoys walking, traveling, and volunteering for the community.
